O R D E R

Mrs.Narmadha Sampath, the learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the respondent submitted that, subject to the result of the SLP filed before the Apex Court, the order passed by this Court in W.P.No.24882 of 2017 dated 07.11.2017, confirmed by the Division Bench in W.A.No.624 of 2018 by judgment dated 28.03.2018, has been complied with. The relevant portion of the communication dated 15.06.2018 made in C.No.D2/3832/2017 by Mr.J.K.Tripathy, IPS., the Director General of Police/Chairman, Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board, Egmore, Chennai - 8 to the Director General of Police/Director, Fire and Rescue Services Department, Egmore, Chennai - 8, is extracted hereunder as the same is in compliance of the order of this Court:

"10.As per the order dated 28.03.2018 of the Hon'ble Madras High Court made in W.A.No.624/2018, 2 marks have been awarded for NCC "C" certificate, 1⁄2 mark for NSS certificate and 1⁄2 mark for Sports certificate. Thus, the candidate's total marks have been raised from 65 to 68 and he came within the eligible zone of his provisional selection for the post of Fireman as he had opted Fireman as his second preference."

2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that consequently, the petitioner should be

permitted to undergo training as he is brought within the eligible zone of provisional selection for the post of Fireman.

3.On instructions, the learned Additional Advocate General submitted that the relevant training programme for six months has already got over and the candidates, who have completed their training have been given postings. The learned Additional Advocate General also submitted that the petitioner has to cause medical examination and verification of antecedants, for which minimum two months time is required. The learned Additional Advocate General would further submit that the case of the petitioner has been forwarded by the Director General of Police/Chairman, Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board, Egmore, Chennai - 8 to the Director General of Police/Director, Fire and Rescue Services Department, Egmore, Chennai-8, vide proceedings dated 15.06.2018 made in C.No.D2/3832/2017.

Hence, the concerned Department has to proceed further in the case of the petitioner. 4.Taking into consideration the submission made by the learned Additional Advocate General, thirty (30) days time is given to complete the aforementioned process in the case of the petitioner by the concerned Department.

5.In view of the above, the Contempt Petition stands closed.
