O R D E R
This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the Trial Court to complete the trial pending in C.C.No.30 of 2018 on the file of the Additional Mahila Court, Chengalpattu, in Crime No.01 of 2018 on the file of the first respondent in accordance with law.
2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is an accused facing trial in C.C.No.30 of 2018 for the offence under Section 417, 493, 294(b), 420 and 506(i) of IPC. He would submit that there are totally 11
witnesses in this case, out of which, 7 witnesses were examined till 16.04.2021. Thereafter, there is no progress in the trial. He would further submit that the petitioner is working as a Deputy Manager in Maruthi Suzuki Car Company at Pune and due to the pendency of the case, he is unable to attend to his work properly. He would further submit that speedy trial is a constitutional guarantee to the accused. Thereby, the present petition has been filed seeking direction to the Trial Judge to complete the trial as expeditiously as possible.
3. Mr.A.Gokulakrishnan, learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that till 16.04.2021, 7 witnesses were examined and remaining 4 witnesses are yet to be examined as prosecution witnesses. He would further submit that the case now stands posted to 12.04.2022 before the trial Court.
4. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.
5. In view of the above, direction is issued to the learned Additional Judge, Mahila Court, Chengalpattu to complete the trial in C.C.No.30 of 2018 as expeditiously as possible preferably, within a period of four months from the next hearing date i.e.,12.04.2022.
6. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
