ORDER : The Court Made the following order :- The petitioner who apprehend arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offence under Act V Sections 2, 21 (d), (e), (f), 35, 35B and 36 of Tamilnadu Forest Act, 1982 in crime Arcot Forest STOR No.1 of 2021 on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2.The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner along with the other accused entered into the reserve forest area and cut down red sandal worth about Rs.10,38,000/-.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution.

4.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that investigation has not yet been completed and further submitted that if this petitioner is granted anticipatory bail, he would tamper the witnesses and vehemently opposed for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5.Considering the gravity of the offence and the fact that investigation has not yet been completed, I am not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
