ORDER
W.M.P.No.9461 of 2026 filed seeking permission to the petitioners to join together and file a single writ petition is ordered on payment of separate court fee.
2. This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent to pay compensation to the petitioners in respect of the proposed land acquisition of the lands belonging to the petitioners under the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013, based on the petitioners' representation dated 14.11.2025 within the time frame to be fixed by this Court.
3. According to the petitioners, there is a proposal to acquire the petitioners' lands more fully disclosed in the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition as per the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Acquisition of Land for Industrial Purposes Act, 1997 (Tamil Nadu Act, 10 of 1999). However, the petitioner seeks for payment of compensation under the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013. The petitioners had given a representation on 3/6
14.11.2025 to the second respondent for the aforesaid purposes. Since the same was not considered, the petitioners have filed this writ petition.
4. Mr.D.Ravichander, learned Special Government Pleader, accepts notice for respondents 1 and 2 and Mr.M.R.Gokul Krishnan, learned Additional Government Pleader, accepts notice for third respondent.
5. No prejudice would be caused to the respondents if the petitioners' representation dated 14.11.2025 is considered on merits and in accordance with law within the time frame to be fixed by this Court. This Court is not expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioners' representation.
6. For the foregoing reasons, the second respondent is directed to pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law on the petitioners' representation dated 14.11.2025 seeking for payment of compensation for the lands more fully disclosed in the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition to be acquired from the petitioners as per the provisions of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013, after giving due consideration to 4/6
the supporting documents produced by the writ petitioner, within a period of four (4) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction.
