ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for direction to the respondents to grant time bound promotion with effect from 02.07.2008 as Senior Assistant Engineer with all benefits. 2.

The petitioner had joined the second respondent Corporation as Fitter. He was promoted to the post of Junior Engineer on 01.06.1995. He is entitled to get time bound promotion once in 6 years in every post. He was again promoted to the post of Assistant Engineer with effect from 01.07.2002. When the petitioner was expecting promotion to the post of Senior Assistant Engineer with effect from 02.07.2008, he was not granted promotion. After his attainment of superannuation, he submitted representation.

The learned counsel for the second respondent would submit that even in the year 2007, he was suffering with punishment of stoppage of increment and as such he was not promoted to the post of Senior Assistant Engineer.

Hence, the petitioner is not entitled for any time bound promotion from 02.07.2008. As such, this writ petition is devoid of merits and liable to be dismissed.
