ORDER

The petitioner has obtained B.Tech, Information Technology from Anna University, Guindy. He has also prepared for competitive examination, while so, 2nd respondent, TNPSC has issued a notification No.21/2017 dated 12.09.2017 for direct recruitment to the post of Assistant Conservator of Forest included in Group-I A service for 14 vacancies. The petitioner applied for the said post, while applying through online, he has

stated that his higher educational qualification, as B.Tech (Information Technology) and was issued with hall ticket to take up preliminary examination to be held on 17.12.2017. However, in the notification no.21/2017 issued by TNPSC, his educational qualification has not been mentioned.

At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner while doing his B.Tech (Information Technology) had written 66 exam papers, except seven additional papers all other papers are similar as B.E.Computer Science and B.E.Computer Engineering. In the meanwhile, petitioner has also submitted a representation on 04.10.2017 to the Secretary, Higher Education Department of Tamilnadu to consider B.Tech, Information Technology issued by Anna University is equivalent to B.Sc., Computer science. The said representation, till date, has not been sent to the equivalence committee, therefore, a direction may be given to the respondents to refer to the equivalence committee to consider whether B.Tech Information Technology obtained by the petitioner is equivalent to B.E.Computer Science, he pleaded.

3. Mr.V.Jayaprakash Narayanan, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for respondents and 3, Ms.C.N.G.Niraimathi, learned counsel, takes notice for 2nd respondent and seek eight weeks time to consider the representation of the petitioner.

4.Considering the limited relief sought for in this petition and without going into the merits of the matter, this Court, hereby directs the 3rd respondent to consider the representation dated 04.10.2017 made by the petitioner within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the order. On receipt of communication made by the 3rd respondent, the respondents 1 and 2 are directed to consider and do the needful within a period of four weeks thereafter.
