O R D E R

This Writ Petition (Criminal) has been filed to direct the 1st respondent police to provide police protection to the 2nd respondent for granting electricity connection to the petitioner's house, measuring 1200 sq.ft., comprised in Survey No.100/3B, situated at No.33A, Srinivasa Perumal Kovil Street, Kodungaiyur, Chennai, based on the representation given by the petitioner dated 29.01.2026 to the 1st respondent police.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner had sent a representation on 29.01.2026 seeking police protection for restoring the electricity connection and water connection and to enable the petitioner to peacefully reside in his property, which has been obstructed by the neighbour, Shyamala and her sisters, Mahalakshmi, Vijayalakshmi, Samundeeswari, Jothilakshmi and Maheshwari. However, no action has been taken on the said representation.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the 1st respondent, on instructions of the Inspector of Police, Kodungaiyur Police Station, submitted that the petitioner's representation dated 29.01.2026 was 2/4

received and thereafter the petitioner was called for enquiry, however, he did not appear. It is further submitted that if the petitioner appears and confirms the complaint, appropriate protection would be granted.

4. The learned counsel for petitioner on instructions, submitted that the petitioner is ready to appear before the 1st respondent police on 30.03.2026 along with a copy of the complaint. Thereafter, the 1st respondent police shall conduct an enquiry with the alleged obstructors of the petitioner's property and his peaceful enjoyment thereof, and ensure that the petitioner's electricity connection, water connection and other amenities are restored, unless there is any valid objection from the obstructors or any order to the contrary passed by a competent Court.

5. With the above directions, this Writ Petition (Criminal) is disposed of. No costs.
