O R D E R

(Order of the Court made by M.DURAISWAMY,J.) The Petitioner has filed the above Writ Petition to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 4 to forthwith remove the encroachments over the three meter wide rain water canal passing through the lands comprised in S.Nos.1 to 503 in Narasingapuram Village, No.145, Chetupattu Panchayat Union, Polur Taluk, Thiruvannamalai District.

2. The petitioner appearing in person submitted that in spite of several representations given to the official respondents, the encroachments made in the rain water canal are not removed.

3.1 The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents filed a status report wherein the Tahsildar (i/c), Chetpet Taluk, has stated that Form I Notices dated 06.12.2018 were sent to the Block Development Officer, Chetpet to evict the encroachments and the Block Development Officer, Chetpet evicted the encroachments made by the encroachers on 13.12.2018, 14.12.2018 and 15.12.2018. Further, he has stated that the encroachment in the detailed channel in the patta lands were also been removed.

3.2 The learned Government Advocate further submitted that still there are some encroachments in the water canal and that the 2nd respondent is taking steps to evict them.

4. Since the the learned Government Advocate has stated that the official respondents are taking steps to evict the encroachers from the encroached land, the submission made by the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents is taken on record.

5. In view of the above, the Writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
