O R D E R

This writ petition is filed seeking direction to the 1st respondent to issue Nativity/Residence Certificate to the petitioner.

2. The fats in brief as per the affidavit are that the petitioner is a native of Puducherry by virtue of his permanent residence and by his birth on 03.07.1993 in Maternity Hospital Puducherry. The petitioner has all the certificates like his birth certificate, family ration Card, Voter I.D., Adhar Card, School Transfer Certificate, MSP Certificate, previous residence certificate issued by the 1st respondent herein in 2010 and 2013, and other certificates showing that the petitioner has been residing in Puducherry.

3. The third respondent has issued notification dated 17.10.2014, notifying recruitment of Police Constables and inviting applications from the interested candidates. The petitioner has applied for the said post and he was selected as an unreserved candidate against MSP quota. He was asked to produce documents including residence/Nativity Certificate. The petitioner has requested the first respondent to issue Nativity and Residence Certificate which was not given to the petitioner. If the 2/4

certificate is not produced, the petitioner's selection will be cancelled.

4. Learned counsel appearing for the respondents requested for some time to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 27.10.2015 and submitted that if the petitioner is eligible for the Nativity Certificate, he will be provided the same.

5. Considering the above facts and submissions of both sides, 1st respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 27.10.2015 and dispose of the same as expeditiously as possible, not later than six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. Accordingly, with the above directions, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
