Crime No.91 of 2021 .. Respondents Habeas Corpus Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a writ of Habeas Corpus calling for the entire records relating to the detention order passed by the second respondent in C.M.P.No.8/Goonda/Salem City/2021 dated 08.03.2021 and quash the same and produce the detenu Mariappan S/o.Muthu Udayar, aged about 53 years, who is now confined at Central Prison, Salem, before this Court and set him at liberty.

O R D E R

[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J] The petitioner is the wife of the detenu viz., Mariappan S/o.Muthu Udayar, aged about 53 years. The detenu has been detained by the second respondent by his order in C.M.P.No.8/Goonda/Salem City/2021 dated 08.03.2021, holding him to be a "Goonda", as contemplated under Section 2(f) of Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982. The said order is under challenge in this Habeas Corpus Petition.

2. Learned Government Advocate [Crl.side] would submit that the detention order passed against the detenu in C.M.P.No.8/Goonda/Salem City/2021 dated 08.03.2021, on the file of the second respondent is revoked vide G.O.Rt.No.1846, Home, Prohibition and Excise (XIV) Department, dated 19.04.2021 and produced a copy of the said order.

In view of the above, this petition is closed as it has become infructuous.
