2.The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to take into account her Disability Certificate and consequently allow her to participate in the Certificate Verification and Counselling under Persons with Disability Category for the Selection process conducted under Notification No.17/MRB/2025 dated 21.11.2025 and to allot a post accordingly.

Disability due to Polio and she is entitled to the benefits of reservation under the Persons with Disabilities category. The petitioner applied for the post of Assistant Surgeon (General) pursuant to the Notification No.17/MRB/2025 dated 21.11.2025 issued by the second respondent, however, the petitioner inadvertently, while applying for the said post, did not opt for the Persons with Disabilities category and hence the category is reflected as BC in the application and the petitioner is not able to participate in the Certificate Verification and Counselling under Persons with Disability Category. Hence, this Court may without going into the merits of the case, permit the petitioner to make representation to the respondents in this regard and issue direction to the respondents to consider the same and to pass appropriate orders on the same day.

4.Considering the limited relief now sought for by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, permits the petitioner to make representation to the respondents on or before 25.02.2025. On receipt of the said representation, the respondents are directed to consider the same, on merits and in accordance with law and to pass appropriate orders, on 25.02.2025.
