Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing to serve Award in respect of Survey No. 87/1A consist of 0.60 Acres, Survey No. 92/2A consist of 0.64 Acre, Survey No. 92/3B consisting of 0.20 Acres, Survey No.176 /1A2 of an extent 0.32 acres Survey No. 176/1B2 of an extent 0.32 acres Survey No. 176/2B of an extent 0.56 acres and Survey No. 176/3B of an extent 0.43 acres all totaling to 3.07 acres in Mathur Village, Madhavaram Taluk Tiruvallur district and consequently direct the respondents Nos. 1 3 and 4 herein to pay 1/4

compensation and further permit the petitioner herein to file LAOP after the service of Award copy.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondents to serve copies of the award.

2. It is the contention of the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner is not served with a copy at any point of time, only when the petitioner applied for patta by letter dated 01.03.2020, the respondent has informed that the lands have been acquired. However, the copy of the award has not been furnished to the petitioner till date, despite the petitioner's representation. Hence, this writ petition.

3. The learned Additional Government Pleader submitted that they will serve the the copy of the award to the petitioner.

4. Heard both sides and perused the materials placed on record. By consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

5. At the outset, this Court is of the view that if the award is passed, it is 2/4

the duty of the authorities to serve the copy to the parties concerned to enable them either to accept the compensation or to challenge the same in appropriate manner. Such view of the matter, there shall be a direction to the respondents to furnish a copy of the award to the petitioner within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this Order.
