O R D E R

The petitioner college is a polytechnic college and has been functioning from the year 2010 onwards. According to the petitioner about 201 students have been admitted under SC/ST category during the year 2016-2017 and scholarship for those students has to be given by the Government. So far, it has not been sanctioned and paid to the petitioner, so as to enable the petitioner to disburse it to the students. In this regard, the petitioner has given an affidavit dated 28.10.2017 and representation dated 08.11.2017. Since the representation has not been disposed of, the petitioner has come before this Court. 2.Heard, Mr.P.Gurunathan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.T.M.Pappiah, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent.

3.The respondent is directed to consider the claim of the petitioner and verify the number of SC/ST students, regarding whom the scholarship is sought for and pass appropriate orders on merits and as per law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

4.With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
