ORDER
(DELIVERED BY DR. S.VIMALA, J.) The 3rd respondent, Commissioner of Police, Chennai, clamped an order of detention on 13.11.2017 as against Anbu, S/o Perumal, as the said authority arrived at the subjective satisfaction that the said detenu is a 'Black Marketeer' and he has to be detained under Section 3 (1) of the Prevention of Black Marketing & Maintenance of Supplies of Essential Commodities Act, 1980 (Central Act No.7 of 1980) with a view to preventing him from acting prejudicial to the interest of public health and public order.
2. Challenging the order of detention, the petitioner has come forward with the present habeas corpus petition.
3. It is submitted by the learned counsel appearing on either side that the period of six months of preventive detention is already over and, therefore, nothing survives for adjudication in this matter and, therefore, this matter may be dismissed as infructuous.
4. Recording the above, this habeas corpus petition is dismissed as infructuous.
