2.The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking direction to the respondents to appoint him on compassionate grounds. 3.The case of the petitioner is that his father worked as Senior Packer in the second respondent office and died on 12.04.1995. Thereafter his mother made representation dated 13.06.1997 to the respondents seeking appointment on compassionate grounds to the petitioner. Since there was no reply from the respondents, the petitioner's mother made another representation on 14.12.1999. Thereafter, the second respondent sent a communication on 21.12.2000 with regard to the willingness to work in any other office in Chennai or anywhere in India. The petitioner also responded to the said letter on 27.12.2000 to the effect that he is willing to work in any other office in Chennai or anywhere in India. Thereafter, nothing was forthcoming, which compelled the petitioner to approach this Court with the present writ petition.
4.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, this Court directs the respondents to pass appropriate 2/4
orders on the representation made by the petitioner's mother seeking appointment on compassionate grounds to the petitioner. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5.With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
