This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents to confer selection grade in the post of Lecturer to the petitioners with effect from July 2009 with consequential re-designation as Associate Professor with effect from July 2012 as per UGC Regulations and as per G.O.Ms.No.328, Higher Education (H1) Department dated 16.11.2017 with consequential pay fixation and arrears of salary by considering the representation submitted by the petitioners' dated 16.11.2017.
2. Heard Mr.G.Sankaran, learned counsel for the petitioners, Mr.P.Raja, learned Government Advocate, who accepts notice for the first respondent and Mr.P.Godson Swaminathan for M/s.Isaac Chambers, learned counsel for the second respondent.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioners submits that in view of the limited prayer sought for by the petitioners, the present writ petition may be disposed of, at the stage of admission itself.
4. Mr.P.Raja, the learned Government Advocate has submitted that if such representation of the petitioners is pending, the same shall be considered and disposed of, within a stipulated period in accordance with law as per the direction of this Court.
5. In view of the nature of relief sought for and submissions made, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose is going to be solved by seeking response of the respondents to the writ petition by filing reply affidavit. 6.Hence, considering the above facts and the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side and without going into the merits of the case, this writ petition is disposed of, with a direction to the second respondent to take a informed and considered decision on the representation of the petitioners' dated 16.11.2017 in accordance with law by a speaking order within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
