Respondents Prayer : Writ Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 4 to pay enhanced compensation of Rs.600/- per cent to the lands of the writ petitioners situated at Thirur Village, Tiruvallur Taluk and District details enclosed with annexure of this petition based on the order of the second respondent in his proceedings Na.Ka.No.45700/08/F3 dated 16.05.2011 at least within a reasonable period. ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for the issue of a writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 4 to pay enhanced compensation to the petitioners based on the order passed by the second respondent through proceedings dated 16.05.2011.

2. When the matter came up for hearing on 07.03.2025, this Court passed the following order:

Mr.P.Sathish, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents 1, 3 and 4. Mr.A.M.Ravindranath Jeyapal, learned Standing Counsel takes notice for the respondent No.2 .

2. Learned counsel for the respondents shall take instructions on the representation that has been made by the petitioner seeking for the payment of the enhanced compensation as per the order passed by the second respondent dated 16.05.2011.

Post this case at the end of the motion list on 28.03.2025."

3. When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the learned Additional Government Pleader on instructions submitted that once the amount is received from the Tamil Nadu Housing Board, the enhanced compensation will be paid to the writ petitioners.

4. Learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Housing Board submitted that three months time is required to deposit the compensation amount with the first respondent. 3/6

5. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the submissions made on either side, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to deposit the compensation amount before the first respondent within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order . On receipt of the same, the first respondent shall pay the compensation to the petitioners immediately.
