Prayer Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to make entires in the revenue record based on the recommendation made by 2/7
the 3rd and 4th respondent in Na.Ka.No. 5794/2022/A3 dated 10.05.2023 and Na.Ka.no.513/2023/A4 dated 31.05.2023 within the time frame fixed by this Court.
For Petitioners : Mr.R.Shivakumar for Mr.K.M.Vijayan Associates For Respondents : Mr.D.Ravichander Special Government Pleader Order The petitioner has filed this Petition seeking for issuance of a Writ, in the nature of mandamus, directing the respondents to make entires in the revenue record based on the recommendations made by the 3rd and 4th respondent dated 10.05.2023 and 31.05.2023.

Mr.R.Shivakumar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioners would submit that the petitioners are the persons under the poverty lines, as such, they have been alloted free sites under the Government Scheme; that the Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board also sanctioned fund under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana for construction of house and nearly eight of the beneficiaries under the Scheme got fund and constructed the house, as far as petitioners are concerned, they were not able to get financial 3/7
assistance for the improvement of the property, and some of the petitioners due to their old age, intends to settle the property in the name of their legal heirs, the Revenue Authorities are refusing to register any settlement deed on the ground that entries made in the revenue records are different from the the patta, which were claimed to be in possession of, therefore, the petitioners have made a collective representation inter alia stating that though patta was issued in the year 2010, even after passage of 14 years, the Revenue Officials have not made any changes in the revenue record; that though the third and fourth respondents vide their recommendations dated 10.05.2023 and 31.05.2023 supported the petitioners' claim, however, as on the date, the petitioners grievance has not been redressed, which necessitated the petitioner to approach this Court by way of present Writ Petition seeking for the aforesaid relief.

Mr.D.Ravichander, learned Special Government Pleader for respondents would submit that initially, when pattas were issued to the petitioners, the Mayiladuthurai area remained as a Rural Area, subsequently, the said area was brought within the Town limit; that since the petitioners' 4/7
property falls within the Town limit, TSLR (Town Survey Land Register) has to be issued and already the respondents are in the process of issuing TSLR and therefore, prays that if a considerable time limit of six weeks' is granted, the respondents would be able to complete the said process.
4. Heard both sides and perused the materials placed on record.

In the light of the submission made by the learned Special Government Pleader for respondents, this Court is of the view that it would be suffice to direct the second respondent, viz., the District Collector, Mayiladuthurai District, to consider the representation made by the petitioner based on the recommendations dated 10.05.2023 and 31.05.2023 made by the third and four respondents respectively.
6. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent/District Collector to consider the representation made by the petitioner and issue TSLR in favour of the petitioners and make necessary entires in the revenue record based on the recommendation made 5/7
by the 3rd and 4th respondent dated 10.05.2023 and 31.05.2023 respectively within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is ordered.
