ORDER

The petitioner has filed this contempt petition for the alleged disobedience of the order of this Court dated 05.10.2016 passed in W.P.No.35347 of 2016.

2. Today, when the matter is taken up for consideration, the learned Special Government Pleader filed a status report of the respondent - District Collector (FAC), Tiruvallur, wherein, it has been stated that pursuant to the order of this Court dated 05.10.2016, enquiry was conducted by calling upon all the parties and an order in Na.Ka.No.16814/2016/B2 dated 18.04.2017 came to be passed, directing the Tahsildar, Gummidipoondi to take immediate steps to remove the encroachment made in Meikkal Poramboke land, as per law. Based on the said order, the Revenue Inspector, Gummidipoondi has issued the notice under Section 7 of the Tamil Nadu Land Encroachment Act, 1905 to the encroacher.

3. In view of the above, we are of the opinion that the direction of this Court has been complied with by the respondent. Hence, recording the same, this Contempt Petition stands closed. The respondent is directed to serve a copy of the proceedings of the respondent dated 18.04.2017 to the petitioner. (R.M.D., J.) (V.P.N., J.) 18.08.2017 rk
