ORDER
The relief sought for in the present writ petition is to direct the second respondent to call for the petitioner for interview to the post of Deputy Manager, Research and Development (Material Science).
2. The petitioner states that his father retired from NLC as Chief Manager and his mother is currently working as an Additional Chief Manager in NLC. The petitioner completed B.E.Degree and subsequently, passed M.E. in Industrial Metallurgy and thereafter, joined as an Assistant Professor in P.S.G. College of Technology, Coimbatore.

Pursuant to the notification issued by the second respondent on 19.09.2018, the petitioner participated in the process of selection for appointment to the Post of Deputy Manager (R&D) Material Science. The name of the petitioner was not included in the short listed names and he made a representation to that effect.
4. The petitioner states that he expected to act fairly in the process of selection and the second respondent failed to act as per the procedures contemplated. It is contended that the second respondent had intentionally not short listed the name of the writ petitioner and that the procedures followed by the second respondent is in violation of the rules and regulations.
5. The learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the NLC India Limited, made a submission that the process of selection was conducted as per the rules and with reference to the terms and conditions stipulated in the notification. The selection process and the interview were concluded and the selected candidates were already appointed and are working. 3/6
6. The relief sought for in the present writ petition is to direct the second respondent to call the petitioner for interview to the post of Deputy Manager (R&D) Material Science. Since, the process of selection had already been completed and the selected candidates were appointed, the relief as such sought for in the present writ petition lost its relevance and if at all, the petitioner is of the opinion that the selection was not conducted in accordance with the statutes and rules in force, he has to challenge the appointments made in violation of such rules. It is for the petitioner to take a decision in this regard.
7. With this liberty, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 02.12.2022 Index:Yes/No Speaking order/Non-speaking order rgm/mrn 4/6
