This writ petition has been filed to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 27.09.2024 to

review the respondent's order No.2019/E(O) II3/2 dated 30.08.2019 for alteration of the petitioner's date of birth as 08.10.1970 instead of 30.06.1969 in his service records.

2. The petitioner seeks alteration of his date of birth from 30.06.1969 to 08.10.1970. It is normal rule in service law that any change in date of birth should be given by the employee within a period of 5 years from the date of initial joining in the office. The petitioner had given it beyond the period of five years. The Court wanted the learned counsel for the respondents who had taken notice to examine the records and get necessary instructions. The learned counsel for the petitioner stated that a mandamus must be issued. That cannot be done.

3. Accordingly, the writ petition stands dismissed. No costs. 07.03.2025 dpq Index : Yes /No Speaking Order : Yes/No
