ORDER

This application has been filed under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act seeking extension of time for the Arbitrator to pronounce an arbitral award by another period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

2.A counter has been filed by the respondents stating that the delay is occassioned only on account of the applicant and therefore, sufficient cause has not been shown by the applicant for seeking extension of time. 3.Admittedly, the arbitration is in the final stage. Infact, arguments have already been heard and the Arbitrator has reserved the same for pronouncement of the Arbitral Award. This is the first application filed by the applicant under ABDUL QUDDHOSE,J.

4.This Court, after giving due consideration to the averments contained in the affidavit filed in support of this application as well as the fact that the arguments have already been heard and the matter was reserved for pronouncement of Arbitral Award, is of the considered view that sufficient cause has been shown by the applicant for seeking extension of time for the Arbitrator to pronounce an Arbitral Award.

5.Accordingly, this application is allowed as prayed for by granting extension of time for the Arbitrator to pronounce an Arbitral Award by another period of four months, even though a request has been made by the applicant for six months in this application, considering the fact that the arguments have already been heard and the matter has been reserved for pronouncement of the Arbitral Award by the Arbitrator.
