This application has been filed to condone the delay of 513 days in filing the written statement.

2. The reasons as set forth in the affidavit is as follows: "I submit that I have been served with the suit summons. Subsequent thereto, I have entrusted the Vakalat to my counsel who has also filed the same. Thereafter, it took some time for me to produce various records and documents which were required by my Advocate to prepare the written statement and during the very same point in time, the entire nation went under a national lockdown due to the spread of Covid-19. In the said circumstances, there is a delay of 513 days in preparing and filing the written statement which is neither willful nor wanton but only due to the reasons afore stated. I will be put to great hardship if the delay is not condoned as I have a fair chance of success in the said suit. No prejudice would be caused to the respondents herein if the delay is condoned."

The learned counsel for the respondents though objected to condone the delay in filing the written statement, yet, considering the oral submissions made on behalf of the applicant as well as the reasons seeking condonation of delay and being convinced of the reasons being genuine, this Court orders the application and the delay is condoned. The written statement is taken on record.

4. Accordingly, this application is ordered as prayed for.
