ORDER

[Made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] This habeas corpus petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 1 and 2 to produce the petitioner's son viz., Thikam Chand, aged about 22 years, before this Court and set him at liberty.

It is the case of the petitioner that his son Thikam Chand, aged about 22 years, went missing from 11.03.2022 and that the police are not taking effective steps to secure him. 3.

Today, G.Gangadharan (Mobile No.94981 28821), SubInspector of Police, T-7, Tank Factory Police Station, Avadi, Chennai, is present.

On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on a complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Tank Factory Police Station Crime No.188 of 2022 has been registered on 17.03.2022 for 'man missing' and investigation is in progress.

In such view of the matter, this habeas corpus petition stands closed with a direction to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ambattur Sub-Division, Chennai, to supervise the investigation in Tank Factory Police Station Crime No.188 of 2022 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenu Thikam Chand, aged about 22 years, is secured, he shall be produced before the Judicial Magistrate Court, Ambattur, Chennai District, under intimation to the petitioner. On such production, the learned Magistrate shall pass appropriate orders with regard to custody in accordance with law.
