... Respondents Prayer:- Contempt petition has been filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, praying to punish the respondents for wilful disobedience of the order passed by this Court in W.P.No.4854 of 2024 dated 27.02.2024.

ORDER

This Contempt Petition has been filed to punish respondents for noncompliance of the order dated 27.02.2024, passed by this Court in W.P.No.4854 of 2024, thereby directing the respondent herein to pay the interest on the belated payment of the terminal benefits to the petitioner at the rate of 6% per annum, commencing from the date of the retirement, till the date of actual disbursement, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of that order.

Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Senior Counsel appearing for the respondent submitted that the order passed by the learned Single Judge of this Court has been duly complied with by the respondent. The amount has been settled to the petitioner by issuing a cheque bearing No.145040, dated 24.06.2025, drawn in favour of the petitioner, payable at the State Bank of India, Salem Branch, Fort Main Road, Salem. To that effect, he also produced the calculation memo filed by the respondent, along with a copy of the cheque, wherein the petitioner has

also acknowledged, including a copy of proceedings, vide f/vz;/jmnghf-nryk;-rl;lk;-T01/upl;-4854-2024/ ehs;/ 25/03/2024. The supporting documents were taken on record. 3.

Recording the above submissions, the Contempt Petition stands closed.
