Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records on the file of the second respondent in connection with the Notification issued by him in 'The New India ExpressChennai' dated 30.5.13 and quash the same to the extent of prescribing the qualification of Diploma alone along with the Apprenticeship Training in the 1st respondent Corporation and direct the respondents to consider the petitioners also for appointment to the post of Technical Assistant in the 1st respondent Corporation and appoint them to the said post on the basis of the qualifications possessed by them.

For Petitioners : Ms.K.Janani for M/s.M.Srividhya For Respondents : Mr.Karthik Rajan C O M M O N O R D E R The petitioners have filed these writ petitions seeking issuance of Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records on the file of the second respondent in connection with the Notification issued by them in 'The New India ExpressChennai' dated 30.05.2013 and to quash the same to the extent of prescribing the qualification of Diploma alone along with the Apprenticeship Training in the first respondent Corporation and to direct the respondents to consider the petitioners also for appointment to the post of Technical Assistant in the first respondent Corporation and to appoint them to the said post on the basis of the qualifications possessed by them. 2.

The case of the petitioners is that the first respondent notified an advertisement in 'The New Indian Express, Chennai' dated 30.05.2013 inviting applications from the eligible candidates for appointment to the post of Technical Assistant including the candidates who have completed the Apprenticeship Training for a period of one year in the first respondent Corporation. According to the petitioners they are eligible to be considered for appointment to the post of Technical Assistant, however, they were not issued with call letters. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioners have filed these writ petitions.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners as well as the learned counsel appearing for the respondents would submit that this Court vide order dated 20.12.2013 made in W.P.No.34255 of 2013 and vide order dated 05.12.2013 made in W.P.Nos.31746 to 31748 of 2013 directed the respondents to call the petitioners for interview for the post of Technical Assistant. Accordingly, the petitioners were called for interview and they also appeared for interview. However, the petitioners were not selected and their candidature were rejected. Hence, nothing survives in these petitions for adjudication.

4.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners would further submit that liberty may be granted to the petitioners to work out their remedy in the manner known to law.

5.These writ petitions are dismissed as nothing survives for adjudication in these writ petitions. However, liberty is granted to the petitioners to work out their remedy in the manner known to law. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
