Respondent Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of India for the issue of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records in pursuant to the Notification No.15/2014 in respect of Serial No.5557 and Application No.270001024 on the file of the respondent and quash the same as illegal, incompetent and without jurisdiction and further direct the respondent to conduct oral test to the petitioner. O R D E R

(Order of the Court was made by V.RAMASUBRAMANIAN,J) The petitioner whose application was rejected on the ground that she does not satisfy either the criteria of a practising lawyer or the fresh law graduate, has come up with the above writ petition, challenging the rejection of her application and for a mandamus to consider her case for selection to the post of Civil Judges.

2. Heard Mr.M.Vengadesh Kumar, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.P.H.Arvindh Pandian, learned Additional Advocate General takes notice on behalf of Ms.C.N.G.Niraimathi, learned Standing Counsel for Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3. On the ground that the petitioner did not satisfy either the criteria of a fresh law graduate or the criteria of a practising advocate, the application of the petitioner was rejected. But when the matter came up today it was found that among 178 candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste who had passed the written examination, the rank of the petitioner was 168. She has secured only 141 marks in the written examination. The cut-off mark for Scheduled Caste female candidates is 181. Therefore, in any case, the petitioner could not have been selected. Hence the writ petition is dismissed. There will be no order as to costs. Consequently, M.P.No.1 of 2015 is closed.
