O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking to quash the First Information Report in Crime No.8 of 2020, on the file of the Inspector of Police, W-28, All Women Police Station, Ambattur, for the alleged offence under Section 498(A) of IPC.

2.Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned counsels for the petitioners and the second respondent submitted that parties have arrived at a settlement and the second respondent has decided to withdraw the allegations in the impugned First Information Report and prayed for quashing of the First Information Report on the basis of the Joint Compromise Memo.

3.Both the parties are present today and have signed the Joint Memo of Compromise along with their learned counsels. The said Joint Memo of Compromise is taken on record. In view of the settlement arrived at between the parties, no useful purpose would be served in keeping the proceedings pending on the file of the 1st respondent Police. Hence, the impugned First Information Report in Crime No.8 of 2020 on the file of the 1st respondent police is quashed.

4.With the above observations, these Criminal Original Petition is allowed. Consequently, connected Criminal Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
