Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 and 2 herein to consider the representation dated 08.04.2015 of the petitioner and forthwith grant an Equivalency Certificate certifying that M.S. (Applied Econometrics) of Pondicherry University is equivalent to M.A. (Applied Economics) offered by other recognized Indian Universities.

2.The writ petition lies in a narrow compass to consider the representation dated 08.04.2015 of the petitioner seeking to grant an Equivalency Certificate certifying that the post graduate degree obtained by the petitioner namely, M.S.(Applied Econometrics) of Pondicherry University is equivalent to M.A. (Applied Economics) offered by other recognized Indian Universities. 3.Considering the narrow prayer made, the second respondent being the Chairman of the Equivalence Committee is directed to consider the representation dated 08.04.2015 of the petitioner seeking to grant an Equivalency Certificate certifying that M.S.(Applied Econometrics) of Pondicherry University is equivalent to M.A. (Applied Economics) offered by other recognized Indian Universities in the Equivalence Committee, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
