O R D E R

Mr.M.R.Gokul Krishnan, learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice for R1 and R2, being the District Collector and District Revenue Officer respectively and Mr.S.R.Vanmathi, learned counsel on behalf of Ms.Daniel Mary, learned counsel accepts notice for R3 to R5, being the officials of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board. They are armed with instructions to enable final disposal of this Writ Petition, even at the stage of admission.

2. The petitioner has made an online application seeking electricity connection in respect of the premises at S.No.279 Kukkalmalai Village, Dharmapuri District. He seeks a mandamus directing the respondents to act upon the same expeditiously.

3. Learned counsel for the respondents point out that the application of the petitioner has been cancelled as early as on 01.12.2023, which fact is reflected from the online status of the application, which is placed at page 90 of the typed set of papers. Their submissions are found 2/4

to be correct insofar as the 'latest status' of the application reveals 'Application Cancelled on 01/12/2023.'. Entry dated 17.11.2023 reads as follows:

'Application Put On Hold For Attending The Defects in Application Or Documents. Reason Additional Document Needed # Additional Document Needed'.

4. In light of the same, it is for the petitioner to have either challenged the order at page 90 or to have supplied necessary documents in order to rectify the defects, as required by the respondents.

5. Thus, mandamus, in the aforesaid circumstances when the application itself has been cancelled, cannot be considered. However, the petitioner is at liberty to make a fresh application enclosing requisite documents.

6. Since the online tracking system reflects the status of the application, consumers are expected to monitor the same for periodic updates. If the track results at any stage are ambiguous or if the petitioner has any submissions to make, or in the event the consumer is expected to furnish any documents/clarifications, they are at liberty/ expected, to approach the authorities by way of written submission/ DR.ANITA SUMANTH,J.

representations putting forth their submissions. So too, in the present case. Application, if any filed by the petitioner will be considered and 3/4

disposed, in accordance with law.
