ORDER
This writ petition is filed seeking a writ of mandamus, calling for the records pertaining to the notification Na.Ka.No.6017/2010/Pa3 dated 25.08.2011 issued by the 2nd respondent, to fill up the post of Forest Guard and to direct the respondents to appoint the petitioner to any one of the post on considering his educational qualification. 2.
The respondents filed counter affidavit stating that the recruitment process that was initiated pursuant to the impugned notification was stopped, at the instance of the first respondent and thereafter, no further steps have been taken to fill up the posts that were notified under the impugned notification. Having noted the said contention, the matter was adjourned, directing the learned counsel for the respondents to get instructions as to the status of the recruitment process. Page No.2 of 5

Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, it is brought to the notice of this Court by the learned counsel appearing for the respondents that the recruitment process initiated pursuant to the impugned notification was abandoned and the entire list called for from the District Employment Officer was also returned through Office Ref.No.6017/2010/E3 dated 25.04.2012 and further recruitment will be made only through the Tamil Nadu Forest Uniform Service Recruitment Committee. 4.
In the light of the above, as the entire recruitment process that was initiated is abandoned, the question of appointing the petitioner herein pursuant to the said notification, does not arise. Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed. The miscellaneous applications, if any, shall stand closed. No costs.
