O R D E R

This contempt petition has been filed complaining that the order passed in W.P. No. 3585 of 2017 dated 03.09.2018 has not been complied with. Along with this contempt petition a sub application has also been filed seeking for a direction to the respondent to issue temporary passport, based on the reasons and circumstances stated in the accompanying affidavit.

2.Mr.J.Madanagopal Rao, learned Central Government Standing Counsel takes notice on behalf of the respondent. 3.According to the petitioner, her son needs some medical treatment urgently in abroad and therefore, her request for renewal of passport has to be considered immediately.

4.It is seen that while disposing the above writ petition on 03.09.2018, this Court directed the petitioner to approach the respondent with a fresh application seeking re-issue /renewal of passport, within a period of two(2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and on such approach, the respondent shall consider the same and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four(4) weeks thereafter, in the light of the order passed by this Court in W.P.(MD) No. 7056 of 2017.

5.It is stated that in compliance of the said order, the petitioner submitted an application for renewal on 16.10.2018 and the respondent has not passed any order so far.

6.Learned Central Government Standing Counsel, Mr.J.Madanagopal Rao, appearing on behalf of the respondent submitted that the request of the petitioner will be considered and appropriate orders will be passed without loss of further time.

7.Accordingly, the above said undertaking given by the learned Central Government Standing Counsel for the respondent is recorded and this contempt petition is closed, by directing the respondent to pass orders on the application submitted by the petitioner on 16.10.2018, within a period of two(2) weeks. Even if the respondent is not in a position to consider the claim of the petitioner for renewal of passport immediately, the respondent may consider the plight of the petitioner due to the health reason of her son and consider for atleast issuing a temporary passport as sought for in the sub-application. Accordingly, both the contempt petition and the sub application are closed.
