Respondents Prayer:- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to immediately ensure daily metro water supply to Chennai City at least for 3 hours a day and at least for 3 hours minimum a day till the Corona Virus crisis blown off and to provide sufficient water tankers in all Chennai Schools and Colleges.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by M.M.SUNDRESH, J.) The petitioner has come forward to file this writ petition seeking enhanced water supply.

2. The petitioner, who is a practising lawyer, submitted that now the lock down has been relaxed considerably and, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

therefore, the requirement of water would also required to be enhanced proportionately.

3.The learned counsel for the 1st respondent submitted that supply is being maintained by taking into consideration the storage level. In a matter of this nature, this court is not expected to pass a positive order as it for the respondents to take note of the present situation. However, we direct the respondents to consider the fact that lock-down has been relaxed considerably now and the need will be more. Now, the reverse migration has taken place and the people from both outside the State and within the State are thronging back to City of Chennai.

4. This writ petition stands disposed of accordingly directing the first respondent to look into the aforesaid aspect and take a decision in this regard. No costs. Consequently, connected WMPs are closed.
