Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issue of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the third responden to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.03.2018.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking a mandamus directing the third respondent to consider the pending representation, wherein the petitioner has made a prayer to issue patta in respect of the property situate at Door No.67, North Thinnalur Village, Cheyyar Taluk, Thiruvannamalai District.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner, being a casual labour, has been residing in the place in question from the year 1997. On 4.7.97, pattas were also issued to several people, but not to the petitioner. Therefore, he has given a representation on 22.3.2018 to the third respondent seeking issuance of patta. But till date, the same has not been considered. Hence, he has come to this Court. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

But this Court is unable to answer the prayer of the petitioner in his favour, since the petitioner merely says that he is in possession of the land in question without producing any iota of document to show that he has been enjoying the property at any point of time. This apart, even to prove his possession also, there is no supportive document. Hence, the writ petition is dismissed. No costs.
