ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed for direction directing the respondents to consider his representation seeking accelerated promotion as Deputy Superintendent of Police.
2. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.
3. The petitioner had entered into service as Sub-Inspector of Police. Thereafter, he was promoted to the post of Inspector of Police on 14.06.2000. He had received several rewards so far. Therefore, he made a representation for accelerated promotion to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police. However, pending writ petition, by an order dated 23.09.2012, the request made by the petitioner was rejected for the reason that the service cannot be termed as on exceptional work and his plea for accelerated promotion is not recommended. Though he nabbed notorious criminals, it cannot be termed as an exceptional work for giving accelerated promotion. 2/5
4. In view of the above, the writ petition is devoid of merits and is liable to be dismissed. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs.
