ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 13.02.2026 and consequently, direct the third respondent to release the amount in the petitioner's individual Savings Bank Account (SB A/c) No.716629447 an amount of Rs.5,15,857/-.

2. The case of the petitioner is that he and his grandfather jointly invested in two fixed deposits with the third respondent. His grandfather had also invested in another fixed deposit individually, nominating the petitioner as nominee. The petitioner's grandfather passed away on 16.11.2025. Thereafter, the petitioner closed all the three fixed deposits and a total sum of Rs.5,15,857/-, was transferred to his Savings Bank Account (SB A/c. No.716629447). However, the third respondent bank did not permit the petitioner to withdraw the said amount on the ground that certain relatives had raised objections. Hence, the petitioner submitted a representation on 13.02.2026. Since no action was taken, the present Writ Petition has been filed.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner, being the nominee in respect of the fixed deposits, is entitled to withdraw the amount in his account.

4. Considering the above facts and circumstances of case, without going into the merits of the matter, this Court directs the third respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 13.02.2026 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of six weeks.

5. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. 03-03-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order PVS To
