O R D E R

Mr.J.Purushothaman, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents. By consent of both parties, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The petitioner seeks for a mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to consider his representation dated 10.02.2019,

wherein and whereby, he sought for rectification of mistake crept in the Patta Passbook.

3. It is stated that the petitioner and his predecessors in title were the absolute owners of the lands comprised in S.F.Nos.18/1, 18/2 & 21 measuring an extent of 21.73 acres situated at Palliagaram Village, Madurantakam Taluk, Kancheepuram District and they are in possession and enjoyment of the above said lands. It is further stated that the petitioner came to know that the Revenue records of the above said Survey Numbers were registered in the name of Kothandaraman Temple. Hence, the petitioner made a representation to the respondents on 10.02.2019, seeking to rectify the mistake crept in the Revenue records. The grievance of the petitioner before this Court is that the said representation has not been considered by the respondents so far.

4. Heard both sides.

This Court, at this stage, is not expressing any view on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, as it is for the second respondent to consider and decide the same on merits and in accordance with law. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of only with a direction to the second respondent to consider the representation dated 10.02.2019 and pass orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law, after hearing the petitioner and other interested parties, if any. Such exercise shall be done by the second respondent within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
