Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issue of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to call for the records on the file of the third respondent in his proceedings in Letter No.AEE/SOUTH/GINGEE/F:DOC/dated 2018 dated 2019 and quash the same directing the respondents to give electricity connection to the petitioner within the time limit fixed by this Court. ORDER

The writ petition has been filed questioning the correctness of the impugned letter bearing No.AEE/SOUTH/GINGEE/F:DOC/dated 2018 dated 2019 issued by the Assistant Executive Engineer, the third respondent herein calling upon the petitioner to deposit a sum of Rs.24,605/- stated to be approximate loss caused by the petitioner due to dishonest abstraction/illegal restoration of supply in accordance with the regulations of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Supply Code.

2.It is seen that the impugned letter has given 7 working days for the payment of entire amount.

3.Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner had already paid the compounding fee of Rs.4,000/- Although the petitioner was advised to question the correctness of the impugned order on the ground that he has not committed theft of electricity, now he has come forward to pay the money and now was advised not to contest the matter. In this context, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner sought reasonable time for paying the entire amount. 4.Therefore, the petitioner is hereby directed to pay the entire amount within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt of the entire amount, the respondents shall restore the electricity service connection to the petitioner. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. Consequently, connected W.M.Ps are closed. No costs.
