ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by The Chief Justice) Heard learned counsel for the parties.

2. The present writ petition, styled as public interest litigation, under Article 226 of the Constitution of India has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent to take appropriate action to remove all encroachments located in the 188 Non-Vending Zones notified in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette dated 24.07.2025 (R.D.C. No.SUSV/3415-10/2023) by considering the petitioner's representation dated 04.12.2025 expeditiously in accordance with law.

3. Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent Corporation has submitted that they will consider the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 04.12.2025 in accordance with law or otherwise, there is a Town Vending Committee, where the petitioner can approach to redress his grievance.

4. Taking into consideration the fact that the representation submitted by the petitioner is pending since 04.12.2025, the respondent Corporation is directed to take a decision on the same as expeditiously as

possible, preferably within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order, and pass a reasoned and speaking order. The order passed shall be communicated to the petitioner forthwith.

5. With the above observation, the writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
