Prayer:Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent herein namely The TANGEDCO, Rep. by it's Chairman NPKKR Maligai, Electricity Avenue, No.144, Anna Salai, Chennai 600 002 to stop the present project of erecting High-tension Tower, transmitting High tower in SRR College Road of Padur Village, Rajiv Gandhi Salai (OMR) and identify some other place and erect the High-Tension Tower and thereby prevent the loss of precious lives within a time frame that may be stipulated by this Court.

Mr.Madusudanan, learned counsel appearing for TANGEDCO would submit that the project, that is, the erection of High Tension Tower in SRR College Road, Padur Village, Rajiv Gandhi Salai, as against which the petitioner is aggrieved, has been abandoned. He has enclosed photographs of the area in question, some containing a half erected tower and some, bare, post removal of the same. A memo has also been filed by the learned counsel to aforesaid effect.
2.Recording this, and as nothing survives in this writ petition, the same is closed. No costs. Connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
