By consent of both parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 20.12.2021.

3. The case of the petitioner in brief:

While the petitioner was serving as Village Administrative Officer, Siruvallur Village, Gobichettipalayam Taluk, Erode District, he was suspended from service on 12.11.2020, by the respondent vide Ref.No.6810/2020/B1, on account of lodging FIR by the Inspector of Police, Vigilance and Anti Corruption, on the allegation that he demanded bribe. Till date, no charge sheet has been filed. Further, the said suspension order has been pending for more than a year. Therefore, the petitioner made a representation to the respondent on 20.12.2021 seeking for revocation of suspension. But the same is still pending without passing any order. filed before this Court.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that without filing any charge sheet or initiating any disciplinary proceedings, the petitioner was placed under suspension for more than a year and hence, he prays to consider the representation of the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate submitted that, the representation of the petitioner will be considered by the authorities concerned and appropriate orders will be passed on merits and in accordance with law.

5. Inview of the above submissions and also considering the limited scope of prayer, without expressing any opinion on merits, this Court is inclined to direct the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 20.12.2021, and pass orders on its own merits, in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
