PETITION under Article 226 of The Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 08.12.2017 in accordance with law to secure ends of justice.

2. The petitioner, claiming himself to be an organizer of a committee constituted for erection of a bronze statue of Dr.Ambedkar in Ariyalur District, has filed this writ petition to direct the respondents to consider the representation given by the petitioner dated 08.12.2017.

3. We have perused the representation dated 08.12.2017 and https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

we find that the said representation is bereft of particulars. In fact, what is sought for by the petitioner is to grant protection to erect the statue. It is not clear as to whether the land, which is said to have been identified by the committee, is a Government land or a private land and as to whether it is in road margin, etc.

4. The learned Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submits that pursuant to the orders passed by the Hon'ble Supreme Court, no person has a vested right to erect a statue in a public place or in a Government land.

5. In any event, the representation dated 08.12.2017 is bereft of particulars and relevant documents have not been annexed. Therefore, we are not inclined to issue any direction in this writ petition to dispose of the representation dated 08.12.2017. However, we grant liberty to the petitioner to file a fresh representation before the Competent Authority furnishing all relevant particulars and pursue the same before the concerned Authority.

6. The writ petition stands disposed of with the above liberty. No costs.
