The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 20.02.2024, for the offence punishable under Sections 8(c) r/w 20(b)(ii)(C), 29(1) of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, in 1/4

C.C.No.521 of 2024 pending on the file of the II Additional Special Judge, Chennai, in connection with Crime No.55 of 2024 on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail.

2. Today, 03.11.2025, when the matter was taken up for hearing, there is no representation on behalf of the petitioner.

3. The earlier bail application of the petitioner in Crl.O.P.No.32305 of 2024 was dismissed by this Court on 02.01.2025 on the ground that the contraband seized from the petitioner was of commercial quantity and that the twin conditions contemplated under Section 37 of the NDPS Act had not been satisfied by the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent police submitted that seven witnesses have been cited in this case. The trial is in progress; the witnesses who were already called have been examined, and LW-5 is listed for examination on 14.11.2025. The trial is likely to be concluded shortly.

5. Considering the fact that the trial is progressing, this Court is not inclined to entertain the present bail application.
