[Order was delivered by R.SUBBIAH,J] The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing first respondent to consider and dispose of petitioner's appeal petition dated 18.12.2018 for issuance of 'Panniandi' Schedule Caste Community Certificate to the petitioner's children Thulasinathan and Rukmani.

2. According to petitioner, he belongs to 'Panniandi', a scheduled caste community and his close relatives were holding such a community certificate. Petitioner has submitted an online application to the second respondent https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

seeking issuance of 'Panniandi' Schedule Caste Community Certificate to the petitioner's children Thulasinathan and Rukmani. However, the second respondent has rejected the same. Against the rejection order, petitioner has preferred an appeal petition dated 18.12.2018 before the first respondent. The grievance of the petitioner is that no action has been taken by first respondent till date. Having no other alternative remedy, petitioner has approached this Court by way of this Writ Petition.

3. Heard learned counsel for petitioner and learned Special Government Pleader for respondents.

4. Learned Special Government Pleader for respondents submitted that orders would be passed on the appeal petition of the petitioner, after conducting enquiry, within a period of six weeks.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Writ Petition is disposed of directing the first respondent to conduct due enquiry and pass appropriate orders in the appeal petition dated 18.12.2018 in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from today. No costs.
