THE HONOURABLE MR.JUSTICE K.RAVICHANDRABAABU Writ Petition No.21567 of 2017 and WMP.No.22540 of 2017 Minor P.Soundarya Represented by her father guardian Periyasamy ..Petitioner Vs.

The Registrar Annamalai University Annamalai Nagar, Chidambaram 608 002.

..Respondent Prayer :

Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to call the petitioner for counselling for B.Sc., (Agri) Self Support Scheme by considering the marks secured by the petitioner and select and admit her in the course in the respondent University.

For Petitioner : Mr.S.Sivakumar For Respondent : Mr.K.Satish Kumar Standing counsel

O R D E R

The petitioner seeks for a mandamus directing the respondent to call the petitioner for counselling for B.Sc., (Agri) under the Self Supporting Scheme by considering the marks secured by the petitioner and select and admit her in the said course at the respondent University.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned standing counsel for the respondent University.

3. The petitioner, who admittedly made an application for B.Sc.,(Agri) course under regular scheme, is now seeking admission to the said course under the Self Supporting Scheme. It is stated by the respondent University that one has to apply independently for the course of B.Sc., (Agri) under regular scheme and B.Sc., (Agri) under Self Supporting Scheme and that there is no common application for both the schemes. Therefore, it is contended that the petitioner, having applied only under regular scheme, is not entitled to be considered under the

Self Supporting Scheme. Apart from saying so, it is also informed to this Court that there is no vacancy in the said course to consider the claim of the petitioner even otherwise. When such being the stand of the respondent University and the present state of affairs, I do not think that the petitioner is entitled to any relief in this writ petition. Therefore, the writ petition fails and the same is dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 06.09.2017 Speaking/Non-speaking order Index : Yes/No mk To The Registrar Annamalai University Annamalai Nagar, Chidambaram 608 002.
