ORDER

By consent of both the parties, this writ petition has been taken up for final disposal.

2. This writ petition has been filed seeking to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider petitioner's representation dated 25.02.2022 and to disburse his father's death benefits, including compassionate appointment to him.

3. The case of the petitioner in brief:

The petitioner's father Mr.Sankaran(late) was working in the third respondent Corporation as Special Grade Driver and while he was in service, he affected with Covid-19 virus and died on 17.09.2020, leaving behind the petitioner, his mother and brother as his legal heirs. But till date, the respondent Corporation did not disburse his terminal benefits to the petitioner. The petitioner made representation on 25.02.2022 to the respondents seeking to grant terminal benefits and to give employment on compassionate ground. But, no action was taken on the representation. Hence this writ petition.

4. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that the representation of the petitioner will be considered by the authorities concerned and appropriate orders will be passed on its own merits.

5. Inview of the above submission and considering the limited scope of prayer and to meet the ends of justice, without expressing any opinion on merits, the following order is passed. i) The third respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 25.02.2022 and pass orders on its own merits and in accordance with law, as early as possible, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this court.

6. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected writ miscellaneous petition is closed.
