By consent of the learned counsel of both parties, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

The writ petition has been filed invoking Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking an order in the nature of writ of certiorarified mandamus to call for the records of the proceedings bearing SCN 302297257/15 on the file of the respondent and to quash the same as illegal and passed without jurisdiction and consequently, direct the respondent to return the passport bearing No.A8664384 issued to the petitioner on 15.02.2000 forthwith.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned counsel appearing for the respondent.

Though a larger relief has been sought for by the petitioner in the writ petition, according to the learned counsel for the petitioner, it would be suffice, if the representation submitted by the petitioner be directed to be disposed of within a time frame. However, on a perusal of the records available, it is seen that no such representation is enclosed in the typed set of papers filed.
5. Hence, the petitioner is permitted to make a fresh representation to the respondent within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and on receipt of the same, the respondent is directed to pass appropriate orders on the said representation on merits, in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of such representation.
6. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
