Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of mandamus, directing the 1 to 6th respondents to remove the encroachment of the 7th respondent in S.No.336/1 at Vettuvanam Village, Anaikattu Taluk, Vellore District based on the representation dated 20.09.2023.

ORDER

(Made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Heard Mr.B.Karthikeyan, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.K.Karthik Jegannath, learned Government Advocate for respondents 1 to 4 and 6 and Mr.A.Gokulakrishnan, learned Additional Public Prosecutor for respondent 5.

2. According to learned counsel for the petitioner, there is an encroachment in S.No.336/1 in Vettuvanam Village, Anaikattu Taluk, Vellore District. The said land is a pathway and the seventh respondent has encroached the same.

3. According to the learned Government Advocate, the said land in S.No.336/1 is not used as a pathway.

4. The petitioner has given a representation dated 20.09.2023. The authorities shall decide the said representation on its own merits and in accordance with law, preferably within a period of six months.

5. The writ petition, accordingly, stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
