ORDER

This writ petition has been filed praying for a direction to respondents 1 to 4 and the police authorities concerned to forthwith provide adequate and effective police protection to the petitioner to safeguard his life and liberty 2.

On instruction, the learned Counsel for Government of Tamil Nadu (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents submitted that the petitioner is a habitual offender and as such, his name is maintained in the history sheet maintained by the fourth respondent. That apart, the movement of the petitioner is closely watched by the fourth respondent by maintaining patta book.

In view of the above submission, the request made by the petitioner seeking police protection to him and his family members cannot be considered by this Court. As such, this writ petition is liable to be dismissed.

Therefore, this writ petition is dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs.
