[Made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.,] With reference to the relief sought for in the present writ petition, the learned Additional Government Pleader would submit that the Tahsildar conducted verification and found that the occupants of the subject lands have been granted 2C pattas (without ownership). Therefore, they cannot be construed as encroachers.

2. However, if the petitioners are of the opinion that 2C pattas have been granted in violation of the Revenue Standing Order or any other law, they are at liberty to file an appropriate application before the competent authority to cancel 2C pattas, if the conditions stipulated are violated. Page Nos.2/4

3. With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
